MidwifeSupplies.com Merges with EverythingBirth.com!

You may have already noticed some changes at EverythingBirth.com. Midwifery products that were previously only found on MidwifeSupplies.com are now integrated into the shopping platform at EverythingBirth.com!

Everything Birth, as a company, previously held two websites, but in an attempt to make it easier on shoppers, those two websites are now integrated.  EverythingBirth.com, as a website, will be more comprehensive though through the integration of the two websites.

This will allow for easier order placing for you and easier order processing for the company!  Other benefits, besides convenience of ordering include:

  • More Customer Rewards- All of Everything Birth’s faithful midwife customers can now set up an account on EverythingBirth.com to start earning reward points as the parents have been doing all along.  More info on customer rewards can be found here.

  • Midwife specific Birth Kits- Everything Birth has added a search bar to the Birth Kits page.  Midwives can supply their clients with a direct link to their specific birthing packages or they can just have their clients type a full or partial name of the midwife or practice name into the search bar.  Here is a link to the Custom Birth Kits so that you can see what I mean.  Midwives who wish to create a custom kit for their clients can do that on this page.

Now, if you happen to notice any quirks on the page while you peruse the new site, please email Everything Birth at info@everythingbirth.com so they can fix it right away.  Unfortunately changes like this sometimes have a few quirks to work out, but Everything Birth has a great webmaster and she will take care of any quirks as they arise.

Lastly, if you have been emailing the company at info@midwifesupplies.com, please update your address book to reflect the change to info@everythingbirth.com.

Everything Birth wants to thank you again for all of your continued support and hopes this website merge will bring the entire community together even more!

Baby Bum Butter

Baby Bum Butter works awesome for rashes, burns and tender bottoms! This cream heals, soothes and creates a moisture barrier for your baby’s bottom or even your own overworked hands. Baby Bum Butter is crafted using a combination of herbs and essential oils. This wonderful cream promotes the healing of skin, seals in skin’s natural moisture without clogging pores, and prevents drying. Baby Bum Butter is made from only the finest essential oils as well as Grape Seed Oil, Olive Oil, Aloe Vera, Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and healing herbs including comfrey, plantain,  calendula. It even has Vitamin E!  You get one free if your order totals between $25-$49 and you use the coupon code: BOTTOMS. See the ad above for more details.

RubyMoon Sample

Everything Birth is very excited to be carrying this new brand of detergent. I think you going to love it and I can’t wait for more of you to try it because… RubyMoon is made with 100% natural, vegan, and biodegradable ingredients. RubyMoon was formulated to work in all water types and is phosphate, enzyme, optical brightener, and soap free. It works so well! It was designed to be the premier laundry detergent for babies with sensitive skin, and it does an outstanding job at cleaning all your laundry especially your diapers. When you get your sample, be sure to head on over to our facebook wall and let us know how you liked it. You get one free if your order totals between $49-$99 and you use the coupon code: RUBYMOON2012. See the ad above for more details.

Changing Pad

Even if you already have a changing pad, it certainly is useful to have an extra one. I do like these for changes in public places. My mom liked that I had a water proof changing pad when I’d change my babies’ diapers at her house, because sometimes a blanket just doesn’t cut it. You can just wash these right along with your diapers and they are much softer than the ones that come standard in diaper bags. They are so soft, they can even be used for the daily ” bare bottom” tummy-time!  You can get one free if your order totals over $99 and you use the code: DIAPERCHANGE. See the ad above for more details.

FuzziBunz® is at it again!!!

I love telling you about awesome things FuzziBunz® is doing. For example, FuzziBunz® is still donating $1 for every “Light It Up Blue” diaper sold to Autism Speaks. But this next promotion will be having many heads spinning with excitement.

This wonderful company is always doing awesome stuff that should make us FuzziBunz® users proud. During the golf oil spill, FuzziBunz® organized donations for the Cloth for the Coast effort to help save coastal wildlife.  FuzziBunz®  donated thousands of diapers to charity overtime, including (but certainly not limited to) orphanages in Uganda, Ukraine, Malawi, and Haiti as well as to US military families and other US families  in need.

I loved telling you about their Earth Day diaper and why buying it would be a good investment for a number of reasons in this past blog. Of course, I always love giving you my take on what diapers might bring the most resale value after you’re done using your diapers, like when I talked about the Choco Truffle diaper here.

When FuzziBunz® decides to run a special as crazy-awesome as this, it’s like all other fluff talk goes right out the window. Then, on the forums start popping up posts like, “OMG! Did you guys see the deal FB is giving away?!” I go heavily into detail about why a sale on these diapers is basically a Gold Rush in this previous blog for those of you who are asking, “What’s the big deal?”

So, here’s the deal, if you participate in this promotion, you will be making an AMAZING financial investment… better than any investment I can think of these days with the economy on a downward spiral. Those wall street investors could wise up and switch from Sposies to FuzziBunz and see wild returns on their investment. I explain how Fuzzi Bunz are quite literally worth their weight in gold in this previous blog.

So, it is with great pleasure that I announce this amazing special promotion…

Take the “Flats Challenge” brought to you by Dirty Diaper Laundry

We happened across a really interesting challenge proposed by the author of the really cool blog Dirty Diaper Laundry. It’s the “Flats Challenge” and it was brought about to counter the concept that if you don’t have a washer in your house, you can’t cloth diaper your baby. Dirty Diaper Laundry suggests that with so many people feeling the financial pinch in America, cloth diapering by the masses needs to be reexamined.

One of the biggest counters to cloth diapering is the whole, “Well, I would, but I don’t have access to a washer and dryer.” Which, granted… I don’t expect anyone to hand wash their diapers. I really don’t. Would I though? Sure.

And apparently thousands of other people would too.

When the author of this blog challenged us all to demonstrate how a low-income family, without access to start up costs of a fancy modern diapering system, without access to a washer and dryer, with a little bit of gumption can diaper their babies endlessly, for the price of a couple packs of flats. Freeing up the cost of disposable diapers means more money to pay off bills, choose healthy foods, and get ahead. One baby in disposable diapers will cost over $2500.  You can buy a functional used car these days for $2500, and yet many low income people find that they can’t get a better job because they don’t have a running car, and yet they throw their money out with each diaper change.

Two packs of flats will cost you way under forty dollars. Especially if you get a deal. Speaking of deals:

To show their support of the “Flats Challenge” presented by Dirty Diaper Laundry, Everything Birth is offering 10% off of a six pack of Swaddlebees flat diapers. All you have to do is put the coupon code: FLATS into the coupon code box at checkout.

Hundreds of parents have taken the author of Dirty Diaper Laundry up on her challenge and agreed to use only flats for an entire week and to disregard the washing machine by washing their diapers by hand. I’m all for it.

I can see the tea tree oil flying off the shelves already, which is why I want to remind you to consider, GSE, clove oil, thyme oil or oregano oil instead of tea tree oil to sanitize your diapers if you are going to be washing by hand. Click through to this previous blog to be reminded of why I say this.

We fully support Dirty Diaper Laundry and all of you in this challenge, and are again reminded that we are surrounded by the best clients in the best industry there is.

Oh, and… Be on the lookout for a Swaddlebees flat diaper six pack Giveaway coming any day now from Everything Birth! ;)

Free Mom Classifieds Listings Arena

I was surfing around on Birth Depot today and I noticed that most of the classified ads for gently used cloth diapers for sale there boast proper washing techniques. Buying gently used cloth diapers from people who know cloth diapers is imperative. A properly cared for set of cloth diapers can survive several cycles of birth through potty training before giving out. So, buying gently used diapers off of Birth Depot is a pretty sound investment. Buying diapers from a larger market with sales from every genre gets risky. What if they over-dried the PUL? What if they used fabric softener?

Purchasing gently used cloth diapers from one of the classifieds ads on Birth Depot is easy. Birth Depot is a free classifieds listing site that is very user friendly and that is designed for the pregnancy, birth and early motherhood market. Birth Depot is a safe arena for women to buy and sell products of interest without having to sift through ads of less consequence to them.

Women will find listings for items such as:

  • Midwifery and birthing supplies
  • Cloth diapers
  • Baby gear
  • Books, DVDs, and video cassettes
  • Maternity and baby clothes

Birth depot is certainly smaller than classifieds like Craigslist, but with the smaller site, you also encounter virtually no “escort services” or other surprising listings while browsing for diaper inserts. On Birth Depot, women are able to sell and purchase birth related items to eachother  in a market that is tailored just for them. You are able to:

  • Register as a member very simply for free!
  • Start listing items within minutes of registration.
  • Manage your ads from a personal “dashboard.”
  • Easily upload photos of your items.
  • Easily connect with someone selling “just the right” baby products at just the right price!

Do you use disposable diapers? Do you buy your disposable diapers in bulk?

A lot of people mention that they don’t really need to save money by using cloth diapers because they always buy their Pampers in bulk, their Huggies in bulk, or their Luvs in bulk. Unless you are deadset against disposable diapering because you think it’s gross (even though I already explained why disposable diapers are actually grosser in a previous blog) or you don’t have access to a washing machine, the fact that people buy their diapers in bulk is even less of an argument against cloth diapering.

The number one reason why people who have considered cloth pass on it is the initial investment. I have three issues with that:

  1. You could buy one cloth diaper a week throughout your third trimester and have a full set of diapers. One cloth diaper a week is less than you would be spending each week on disposables once the baby arrives.
  2. If you can afford to buy bulk disposables and plan your budget that way, why couldn’t you plan your budget to accommodate cloth diapers. A set of even the most coveted cloth diapers is about $275.
  3. If you have a baby shower, you could either register for cloth diapers, or you could return all your bulk sacks of Pampers, Huggies and Luvs to Wal-mart or Target and buy yourself a set of really nice cloth diapers. If you choose a good All-In-One like Bamboo Baby or FuzziBunz, you’ll be set on diapers for the next three years (and then the three years of diapering any future children as well, unless of course, you choose to sell your diapers when you’re done and get most of your money back.)

You see, even with the cheapest package of the flimsiest, crappiest bulk disposable diapers from an outlet store like Costco, you’re still going to end up paying about $50 a month.

*****calculator clicking*****

Ooooooooh.

Ouch. That’s over a thousand bucks if you manage to potty train your baby within two years.

Hmmm….

Do you still think you can’t budget for that $275?
