It’s been months now since that blessed week when we found the right homeopathic remedy for my daughter’s severe eczema.
Months without eczema. Months without weeping, bloody skin.
If you need to be brought up to speed:
When I last left off, I had planned to see a homeopathic doctor because homeopathy seemed to be working, but the healing never stopped. From the onset of her dramatic improvement (during the week when I gave her both homeopathic Graphites and homeopathic Rhus Tox,) her skin cleared more significantly each day, until one day she said, “Mama, remember I used to have itchy skin? But I don’t anymore.”
From her infancy until homeopathy fixed her skin, I battled with it daily. More than daily actually. Her atopic dermatitis was such an integral part of my life that I had specially sewn outfits to accommodate her and prevent infection. I clipped her fingernails every day.
From her infancy until homeopathy fixed her skin, she had to live like that. She was never not itching. Often while tucking her in for bed, I would try to hold her arms still, applying pressure so she could fall asleep.
She falls asleep without flailing now. She sleeps soundly now.
Now, when she plays with her toys, she just plays with her toys. She doesn’t set her doll in her lap to scratch her itchy skin anymore.
Now, she can wear a tank top and shorts.
Shorts and a tank top… To me, this picture is more than just adorable, it’s a dream come true. It’s a mother’s prayers answered.
My child endured so much because of her autoimmune problems:
Modern medicine told us to use steroids and petroleum lubricants. They never presented me with a way out of this, just ways to make it less awful.
Then, as I mentioned in Part One, I read about a study that found some success by using homeopathy for eczema.
Our life is so different now.
Her worst areas have always been inside her arms and in her neck.
Here is my daughter now, after having spent part of last spring, all of the past summer and into this fall with CONSISTENTLY clear skin thanks to homeopathy:
There have been three times over the past five months when I thought she might break out into a rash. In these situations, when I saw her start to scratch her skin, I gave her a combination of the homeopathic remedies Rhus Tox and Graphites. Just a single dose of each. Since I am still unsure which one ultimately saved her from her chronic skin conditions, I just administered both on the few occasions when I started to suspect a relapse and each time, her skin remained clear.
Homeopathy can be complicated. What works for one person won’t work for everyone. Just because homeopathic Rhus Tox and/or Graphites worked for my daughter doesn’t mean they will work for all cases of eczema. What this chronicle does attest to though is that it worked for my daughter. If your child is suffering with eczema/ atopic dermatitis, please think about seeing a homeopathic doctor. You might even consider purchasing a Hyland’s Homeopathic Remedy Chest. For chronic conditions, it is advisable for you to consult a professional, but it’s always nice to have the recommended products on hand.
